The Vehicle Performance and Analysis Simulation is a graphical
six degree-of-freedom simulation package capable of predicting
four-wheel land-vehicle response in performance, ride, stability &
control, handling, and braking situations.
VePAS features a user-controlled driver environment for steering,
braking, speed control, and transmission functions.
Additions to VePAS (version 2.0) include:
- Simulation help information
- Front wheel drive
- All wheel drive
- Post simulation analysis capability
- Improved speed controller response
- Full vehicle aerodynamics
- Environment wind model
- Fuel economy prediction
- New stability & control scenario
- Enhanced graphics

You can use
VePAS to test a component part or complete vehicle design using
a controlled user-defined simulated test scenario.
In addition to its graphical display functions, VePAS generates portable
simulation output data files containing vehicle accelerations,
velocities, displacements, orientations, and operational modes
in the North-East-Down (NED), local vertical, and body axis
coordinate systems. All simulation data elements can be plotted
during program run-time.
The VePAS package also has an interactive
data input interface for vehicle and simulation specifications.
VePAS stores this information in separate data files, enabling
you to create large databases for vehicle design and regression
test analysis. VePAS provides students and engineers with a
comprehensive, user-friendly tool for advanced vehicle engineering.
